Hats will always be a creative outlet that celebrates individuality,
and never chases trends.

Our Story

Thatch Hats was inspired by two of the most important parts of my
life — my wife Sydney, and our golden retriever Thach (no “T”). Sydney
actually came up with the name. She said, “What about Thatch — like a roof
over your head?” And it stuck.

Where did the name Thach come from? I got it from Thach Avenue in Auburn, Alabama where I went to college. I lived off of Thach Ave my freshman year and always
said that when I get a golden retriever, I was going to name him Thach. I got Thach the summer before my sophomore year and the rest is histroy.

This brand is an extension of me. I’ve always wanted to express
myself creatively—and I’ve always loved hats. For years I kept hat ideas
in my head. Eventually, I decided to make them real. Thatch Hats is
about what I find cool, meaningful, or aesthetically pleasing—from old
trucks to southern Saturdays, coastal roads to critters in the wild.

Some brands feel overly polished, too curated—engineered to impress.
That’s not us. At Thatch Hats, we’re just making what we love. If it
resonates with you, awesome. If not, that’s cool too—everyone’s got
their own style.
